Job Description

540 is looking for a Back End JavaScript Engineer. This person will work a team of 8 developers who are improving the efficiency of data sharing within the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). We are looking for a startup-minded individual to work within an Agile team focusing on full stack development with JavaScript / Typescript, Node, NestJS and React primarily.


On this project, you will be supporting FDIC's Bankfind Suite (BFS), formerly known as Public Facing Applications (PFA). The BFS is a suite of applications that allow users to search FDIC's extensive data records. This includes the ability to locate current and former FDIC-insured institutions in addition to following historical and financial trends of individual institutions, groups of institutions or the industry as a whole. 540 is responsible for providing technical leadership and capabilities for the agile delivery of modernizing and migrating on-premise applications to the cloud.

  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • 3+ years of JavaScript / Typescript experience
  • 2+ years of NodeJS experience
  • API / data-driven web application experience
  • Elasticsearch
  • Familiarity with Git repositories
  • Experience writing unit and end-to-end tests
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must have or be able to attain a United States security clearance with the FDIC
  • Bachelors degree
