Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:   DUE TO A PROMOTION, WE ARE LOOKING FOR OUR NEXT SR. ACCOUNTANT


We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions in an Omni channel environment (Operations, Wholesale, Retail, Warehouse, etc.)  This key team member’s responsibilities include reconciling account balances, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures, combining excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. The ideal candidate has also experience collaborating with other team members.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the integrity and accuracy of general ledger accounts including journal entries, analysis and reconciliations as part of 2-day month end closing process
  • Accountable for all lease arrangements (new and amended) under ASC 842, prepaid advertising and accrued expenses across all business units
  • Review inventory reserve calculations and intercompany transactions and reconciliations
  • Provide audit and SOX support, including responsibility for assigned key controls if applicable
  • Conduct monthly variance and flux analysis for assigned accounts
  • Review and approve journal entries, analysis and reconciliation prepared by other team members to adjust for any discrepancies
  • Partner with the business and finance on cost awareness and control initiatives, recommending ways to reduce costs and enhancer revenue
  • Present reports, discoveries and results to leadership
  • Prepare ad hoc reports for internal needs, as well as for auditors
  • Assist with various projects as assigned
  • Constant focus on improving existing processes and controls

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum relevant experience of 3-5 years in a fast-paced environment
  • SOX compliance knowledge a plus 
  • A strategic thinker with strong understanding of GAAP and accounting concepts
  • A can-do attitude adapts well to changes, welcomes new challenges an thrives to excel under pressure with focus on speed and accuracy
  • Must have strong attention to details, resourceful researcher and deadline driven
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly at advance level in Excel and high proficiency in ERP system. Microsoft Dynamics/D365 a plus.
  • Effective communicator, both verbal and written
  • Professional, high energy, interpersonal skills and able to work with all levels of the organization
  • Problem solver, able to multi-task and work independently with minimum supervision
