Job Description: JOB SUMMARY The Buyer is a critical member of the Purchasing team whom will analyze costs and assist with the purchase of materials, equipment, supplies and services for in house and 3rd party brands. In this role you will be responsible for communicating with our suppliers and vendors to maximize operational procurement efficiency for varied channels (Wholesale, Retail and eCommerce). The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and possesses strong analytical skills. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Works closely with the sales channel and merchandising team to purchase inventory to maximize sales within marketing promotions and new product launchesAssist Operations by focusing on inbound transportation and stocking methods to reduce costs associated with the procurement of inventory.Manage vendor communications to resolve supply chain related issues (payments, stocking levels, freight, quality, etc.) in a timely manner.Manage stocking and non-stocking vendor replenishment related activities.Review assigned vendors and maintain the correct balance of inventory to optimize inventory turns and minimize stock outs on key itemsPerform stock adjustments to obtain the proper balance of stock to maximize sales and minimize obsolete inventory as well as set forth by company initiativesDevelop reporting tools to identify slow moving stock that is routinely expedited and develop a stocking plan to drive down expediting costs.Work closely with the Supply Chain team (Purchasing, S&OP, Logistics, and DC Operations) to communicate expectations to the vendors and provide feedback to resolve supply issues.Document and communicate purchase orders or purchase order changes to suppliersReview generated purchase orders or enter new purchase orders into ERP system and prepare reportsFollow-up on purchase orders to ensure compliance with delivery schedules and requestor requirements and to coordinate resolution of delays or problems that ariseCommunicate significant supplier situations that may impact objectives and supplyProactively seek cost reductions with current suppliersMaintain supplier records.Resolve any discrepancies with quantity, delivery, cost and qualityParticipate in company initiatives and contributes to continuous improvement processes SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE Associate Degree in Business required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.5+ years of experience in procurement, preferably in an automotive aftermarket environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills customer-focused working environment.Possess excellent personal organization and business administration skills in accordance with modern best practice methods.Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently and effectively with initiative and drive under tight timelines and pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality.Possess the willingness to learn, improve and adapt.Proficient with MS Office applications – Advanced Excel, Word, and Power Point.
