This is an incredible opportunity for those who live and breathe e-commerce design and development to join a rapidly growing venture-backed e-commerce and technology company. 3BG Supply Co. is looking for an individual to work as the LEAD role in the design and implementation of our e-commerce initiatives. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, a self-starter and a team player. You will be responsible for the overall solution and system architecture for our e-commerce platform and integration with an associated 3rd party. Within this leadership position, you’ll have the opportunity to rebuild the core platform around 3BG’s present and future lines of products. The architect will be responsible for planning and executing a high-performance platform which will manage millions of products with a lot of information in each product and category. The individual will liaison with different functions including business and product functions to gather product features and insights which will eventually translate into feature requests. The technical architect will be responsible to automate data as well as business problems through technology and work towards innovating in the MRO industry space.

  • Working closely with the team of architects, quality engineering, UX Designers and other members of our DevOps and Data teams to develop innovative, high-quality solutions and ensure features meet key design goals

  • Developing and maintaining the 3BG roadmap for all strategic e-commerce technology operations initiatives

  • Managing the day-to-day e-commerce responsibilities and collaborating with the Digital Marketing team in using Google Analytic tools to increase member acquisition, loyalty and in turn, drive traffic and sales performance

  • Providing end-to-end quality assurance testing across all release cycles, including performance testing to ensure the website and associated 3rd party systems remain stable under high volume traffic

  • Drive continuous improvement in our release practice through automation and delivery pipelines

  • Collaborating with our DevOps and Data team in the handling of data flows between loosely coupled systems with very little or no requirements on the board

  • Managing more with less -- it’s in our blood as a growing e-commerce website in its scale-up phase of our business lifecycle

  • Conceptualizing, developing and maintaining system architecture and support documents with little or no support

  • Creating advanced reports and dashboards

  • Able to monitor problem-solving initiatives and resolve complex issues

  • Able to initiate and implement architecture level quality control reviews

  • Collaborating with other architects to update architecture documents and other development processes documents


  • Bachelor’s / Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field preferred

  • 5+ years experience e-commerce development

  • EXTREME PREFERENCE for those with experience leading horizontal e-tailing websites, managing large e-commerce websites with more than 1M products distributed across multiple categories and with faceted search

  • 5+ years of experience in technology with hands-on experience in Java and ElasticSearch

  • Proven background in high volume, high availability search stacks: such as experience in ElasticSearch and/or SOLR

  • Strong OOPS and design fundamentals

  • Solid database skills in at least one SQL and one NoSQL Database

  • AWS Certifications - AWS Certified Big Data - specialty desired, 5+ years min experience with AWS preferred

  • Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins

  • Collaborative codebase management using GitHub or SVN

  • Being hands-on, having an analytical mind and being a critical thinker, and a problem-solver is essential for this role

  • Good knowledge of Advanced Java and Big Data technologies for e-commerce

  • Has an understanding of large SKU-count e-commerce platforms with faceted search

  • Strong code review & debugging skills

  • Advanced understanding of JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, HTML5

  • Understanding of Big Data and Graph DB technologies especially Amazon Neptune and any other popular NoSQL DB

  • Understanding of modern design patterns such as MVC

  • Experience with RESTful API, front end technologies such as Bootstrap, Node.js, Angular JS, etc

  • Strong understanding of Apache and things like wildcard redirects, URL rewrites, ingesting and providing data APIs, understanding of front end APIs

  • Strong analytical experience using Google Analytics, Kibana, analytics tool including data trending and analysis for senior leadership level presentations preferred
