Who We NeedAn Azure Data Warehouse Architect will lead a strategically important area of our business.The position will provide a solution for sharing data between over eight systems that reside on different platforms.To lead technical meetings with the client, clearly explain how the Azure data warehouse houses and shares data between systems.As the data warehouse lead, you will be responsible for building a technical solution to create dynamic and static reports from the data warehouse on the Azure platform. What You’ll Spend Most of Your Time DoingCreating an architecture for a Data warehouse that will reside in the azure cloudGetting the approval for this federal client data warehouse designSitting in requirements gathering sessionsCoordinating and working with ServiceNow and IBM developersImplementing the solutionCreating databases and ETLsSetting up PowerBI and generating both dynamic and static reports As a Data Warehouse Architect, you will:Be a key member of a high performing agile scrum teamDevelop mission-critical data warehouseMonitor and tune system data warehouse to achieve optimum performance levelsUse ServiceNow’s ITBM and the scrum process to effectively communicate with your team and project leadershipDesign and create a data warehouse in the Azure CloudDevelop both physical and logical data models.Create SDD and Architectural documentsPrepare design for all metadata according to various ETL processes.Perform troubleshoot on all ETL processes and resolve issues effectively.Prepare appropriate status reports and submit it to management.Analyze all data warehouse architecture goals and identify skill requirement for same.Prepare designs for database systems and recommend improvements for performance.Maintain and develop various database scripts and tools to facilitate automation process.Develop various ETL processes and prepare OLAP cubes.Provide support to all data warehouse initiatives.Analyze all data warehouse activities and identify key resources for same.Design various ETL processes and perform tests on data.Define meta data standards for the data warehouseMonitor processes and develop plans to capture and access all metadata.Develop and implement various work plans for projects.Support engagements to develop a pipeline of high impact projects that will use the data warehouseLocation will be in Washington, DC Are You:15+ years professional experience creating and working with databasesData auditing and evaluationRelational star-schema data model designExperience in Data Modeling (Dimensional and other techniques using modeling tools) role, including transactional systems, data warehouses and data martsDesign, conceptual, logical and physical data modelsMaintain data dictionary and enterprise conceptual data modelsExperience with modeling normalized and de-normalized data structuresExperience in developing and maintaining data mapping ETL/ELT needs and data lineageBI semantic-layer modelingExperience and knowledge of reporting platforms such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau Looker, Data Studio, etc.Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills.Ability to communicate effectively with peers, management, business groups, contractors, consultants and vendors.Ability to define and explain work methods.Must maintain confidentiality of proprietary, financial and personal data.Experience with cloud databases such as AWS RDS/Redshift, Microsoft Azure Cosmos DB/SQL Server, or Google Cloud Platform BigQuery (preferred). OTHER CONSIDERATIONS: Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation. Individual’s primary workstation is located in an office area with overhead lighting. The noise level in this environment is low to moderate. Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc. Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs.
