Packaging Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Determine cost, savings, and ROI for packaging and material handling projects.

• Develop trial plans and analyze results.

• Support automation initiatives

• Gather packaging process data and develop project requirements.

• Assist in the development, validation, and implementation of packaging-based cost reductions projects.

• Provide technical expertise for troubleshooting manufacturing-related packaging problems.

• Provide technical services for continuous improvement efforts involving packaging materials.

• Develop design criteria and equipment lists for complex packaging processes.

• Develop process strategies/philosophies, as well as lean packaging line design for packaging projects.

• Work with other disciplines to ensure the necessary details related to the packaging process are fully coordinated.

• Research equipment providers and make recommendations and selections based on client and project requirements.

• Mentor other engineers.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical Engineering preferred)

• 5 years’ design Experience

• Prior project leadership experience

• Significant demonstrated cost savings through automation/packaging initiatives

Preferred Skills:

• AutoCad, Visio, Excel

• Effective communication and presentation skills.

• Effective skills working within a team environment.
