Mechanical Engineer, Thermal Science Description

Our client is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to add to their team in Baton Rouge, LA. After initial training, there would be an opportunity to work from home 2 days a week. Reporting to the COO, you will spend 80% of your time working on an array of activities associated with business development proposals from inbound project requests, while the remaining time will be spent on existing projects. As part of a development team, you will deliver complex solutions to customer proposals and interact with the customers directly. Our client is looking for someone with at least five years of mechanical engineering experience with a background in thermal science (heat exchange, heat transfers, thermodynamics), who enjoys working with customers and developing proposals. Ideal candidates will understand aerospace contracting procedures. Senior Mechanical Engineer, Thermal Science Responsibilities

• Lead proposal activities, including large DoD, or aerospace projects
• Oversee the engineering-related components of the proposals (CAD design, thermal design, etc.)
• Collaborate with customers and team members to deliver complex solutions
• Communicate the benefit/risk ratio of proposed business opportunities with management
• Deliver proposal packages on a schedule to customers

Senior Mechanical Engineer, Thermal Science Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required
• 5+ years of engineering and project management experience required
• Background in thermal science (heat exchanger, heat transfers, thermodynamics) required
• Understanding of aerospace contracting procedures required
• Proficient with CAD software required
