[HYBRID] Meeting & Event Planner – Great Work/Life Balance and Flexibility!
Location: Minneapolis, MN; 90% WFH, monthly meetings & events
Salary: $65,000-$70,000

Typical Hours: M-F, 8am-5pm (very flexible); 40-45 hours

Travel: 10-15% local with quarterly domestic travel

[HYBRID] Meeting & Event Planner (event planning exp. req.) Description

Our client in the association management industry is looking for a Meeting and Event Planner to add to their team. Although about 90% of your time will be working from your home office, candidates must be within driving distance of Minneapolis to support local client events and meetings. You will partner with their clients, both professional and trade associations, as well as internal teams to coordinate, manage, and execute local and national events throughout each year. These events will range from 50-person lunch meetings to an attendance of over 500 for national, multi-day events that take place a few times throughout the year. You’ll be successful if pride yourself on being creative and resourceful when tending to and solving complex problems with a variety of variables in new situations. Although 60% of your time will be focused on event planning, it’s important to note you’ll serve as a point of contact for volunteers of their associations. So aside from planning events, you’ll help support more day-to-day initiatives working with committees, planning local meetings, registrations, etc. If you’re looking to expand your portfolio and gain more experience in account management, this is a great opportunity to join a company that focuses on promoting from within. [HYBRID] Meeting & Event Planner (event planning exp. req.) Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee conferences and events to ensure seamless operations
• Lead the process of selecting event venues and handle negotiations
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors
• Serve as the primary staff contact for conference-related committees
• Perform various administrative tasks to support the smooth execution of conferences
• Manage event budgets to ensure financial responsibility and success
• Coordinate sponsorships and ensure the execution of sponsorship benefits
• Support the creation of conference-related publications
• Oversee financials related to expenses and income
• Travel to provide onsite support to both local and domestic events

[HYBRID] Meeting & Event Planner (event planning exp. req.) Qualifications

• 3+ years of event planning experience required
• Background working with audio-visual companies required
• 10-15% local travel with quarterly overnight travel required
