What does it mean to 'work from a garage'?

Working from a garage typically refers to running a business or performing remote work from your own home garage instead of a traditional office space. Many small business owners, freelancers, and entrepreneurs use their garages as affordable and convenient workspaces. This setup is popular for startups, craftspeople, mechanics, and those needing a private area for projects. It offers flexibility and can help reduce overhead costs, but it’s important to consider zoning laws and necessary permits in your area. Ensuring a comfortable, organized, and safe environment is also essential for productivity.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals who work from their garage, and how can they be effectively managed?

Working from a garage often presents unique challenges such as limited space, temperature control, and potential distractions from home life. To manage these issues, it's important to invest in proper insulation, ventilation, and ergonomic furniture to create a comfortable and productive workspace. Setting clear boundaries with household members and establishing a regular work schedule can also help maintain focus and professionalism.
