The Windows Gaming team in SiGMA (Silicon, Gaming, Media & AI) has a unique opportunity for an experienced product manager to shape platform strategy, influence the gaming ecosystem, and work to ensure gamers continue to choose Windows as their go-to gaming platform. Responsibilities
  • Help define and influence the long-term vision and strategy for Windows gaming feature areas based on a deep understanding of customer needs, market and user research, the competitive landscape, and Microsoft's business goals and strategy.
  • Own and drive the end-to-end product roadmap, prioritizing experiences that result in faster, smoother, or more reliable gameplay across a broad range of PC devices and form factors, and that drive adoption, retention, and player delight.
  • Work across multiple Microsoft organizations spanning OS platforms, developer and technology groups to deliver seamless, high-performing, player-first experiences.
  • Author clear, concise PRDs, specifications, and decision documents that align cross-functional teams, accelerate execution, and enable informed tradeoffs.
  • Define success metrics and measurement frameworks across player value and product performance, in partnership with analytics and data science teams.
  • Represent Windows gaming externally - at conferences, in blog posts, and with key partners in the industry.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the PC or gaming space, with a strong understanding of the business and technology dynamics driving gaming devices and platforms OR Experience with graphics or other technology areas that enable high performance realtime experiences, with a strong understanding of modern PC gaming architectures (OS, graphics runtimes, drivers, hardware, and game engines)
  • Track record of navigating complex cross-team dependencies.
  • Strong intuition for gaming user experience, especially ease of use and "it just works" expectations, with experience analyzing and closing gaps versus alternative platforms.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written communication, with a proven history of delivering strategic executive briefings and authoring public content.

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in EE or Computer Science or closely related field
  • 8+ years of experience in Product management, Program management, Software development,
    • OR equivalent experience
  • 2+ years experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market (e.g., design, addressing product market fit, and launch, internal tool/framework)
  • 4+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn)
  • 4+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product)

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
