Job description

Position Summary...The Billing Operations Manager is responsible for leading the operations model, controls, performance management, and cross-functional execution of our Revenue Cycle Management billing functions.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Invoicing & Dispute Resolution, this role will serve as a horizontal leader across Self-Serve Billing, Managed Serve Billing, Disputes, and 3P Billing, ensuring the team operates with consistency, accountability, accuracy, and scalability.
The ideal candidate will bring strong billing operations experience, people leadership, process improvement discipline, and the ability to connect day-to-day execution with broader revenue, cash, customer, and compliance outcomes.

  • Lead end-to-end Billing Operations across Self-Serve, Managed Serve, and 3P billing, ensuring clear ownership, consistent execution, and alignment across all billing lanes.
  • Establish and manage the billing operating rhythm, including prioritization, workload visibility, escalation paths, and coordination across the full revenue cycle.
  • Own billing governance, including SOPs, approval workflows, adjustment controls, documentation standards, and audit readiness
  • Ensure billing activities are accurate, timely, compliant, and scalable as business volume, customer complexity, and partner needs grow.
Dispute Resolution:
  • Oversee the dispute resolution process to ensure disputes are reviewed, prioritized, resolved, and closed within established SLAs.
  • Partner with Finance, Accounting, Sales, Operations, Legal, and customer-facing teams to resolve complex billing disputes and prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor dispute aging, dispute volume, credit trends, root causes, and financial impact to identify operational or system-driven issues.
Operational Support:
  • Serve as the cross-functional escalation leader for billing issues involving customers, systems, contracts, platforms, internal teams, or third-party partners.
  • Support and develop billing team members who own specific billing lanes, ensuring role clarity, accountability, and consistent performance expectations.
  • Manage team prioritization, capacity planning, training, SOP adherence, and day-to-day operational readiness.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Sales, Operations, Legal, and third-party partners to resolve issues and improve billing execution.
Process Improvements & metrics reporting:
  • Define, monitor, and improve Billing Operations KPIs, including billing accuracy, invoice timeliness, SLA adherence, dispute aging, backlog, credit activity, revenue leakage, and cash-cycle impact.
  • Use data and root-cause analysis to identify recurring defects, manual work, control gaps, reconciliation issues, and contract-to-bill breakdowns.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives that reduce rework, improve accuracy, strengthen controls, automate workflows, and scale Billing Operations.
  • Develop reporting, dashboards, and business review materials that provide visibility into performance, risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
What you'll bring...
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in billing operations, revenue operations, or finance operations.
  • Experience supporting marketplace, seller, or platform-based billing models strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of billing workflows, dispute resolution, and internal control environments.
  • Experience working with ERP or billing systems and data reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain billing concepts clearly.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous growth environments
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Product, Engineering, Finance and Legal to identify requirements in tools, dashboards, and access to data to maximize performance and efficiency.
