Role Description
This is a remote contract role for a VMware Automation and Aria Suite Consultant. The VMware Automation and Aria Suite Consultant will be responsible for day-to-day tasks related to installing, configuring, managing, upgrading, troubleshooting and customizing VMware Aria Suite in a remote setting.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the architecture, design, and deployment of VMware Aria Suite and Saltstack.
  • Oversee deployment and configuration of Aria Suite (LCM, Operations, Network, Logs, and Automation) as well as Saltstack.
  • Work with customers to define business and technical requirements for Aria Suite-based private and hybrid cloud solutions.
  • Design and implement multi-site architectures, workload provisioning, workload management, configuration management, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Lead technical discussions, workshops, and knowledge transfer sessions for clients and internal teams.
  • Integrate Aria Suite with third-party platforms such as infrastructure, storage, networking, and security solutions.
  • Develop and deliver technical documentation, design documents, and best practices for Aria Suite deployments.
  • Mentor junior technical consultants and provide guidance on troubleshooting and optimization.
  • Participate in pre-sales engagements, helping scope and position Aria Suite solutions for clients.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, security policies, and compliance requirements
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of technical experience with VMware and supporting technologies.
  • Expert level experience installing, configuring, and managing Aria Suite and SaltStack. Aria Suite: Aria Operations, Aria Operations for networks, Aria operations for logs, and Aria Automation
  • Expert level experience creating custom advanced modular workflows and blueprints in Aria Automation
  • Expert level experience integrating Aria Automation/Aria Orchestrator with various infrastructure and software endpoints via REST API
  • Experience with integrating Aria Automation with NSX for network element deployment with blueprints
  • Expert level experience creating custom dashboards, reports, views, compliance, and configurations in Aria Operations and Aria Operations for logs
  • Expert level experience analyzing network traffic and creating micro-segmentation rules
  • Experience with Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, AWX, and other automation platforms a plus
  • Experience implementing CI/CD processes to ensure that changes are tested, approved, and deployed in an automated and secure manner
  • Experience in VMware technologies and Aria suite software
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Required Certifications: VCP-CMA
  • Bonus Certifications: VCP-DCV, VCAP-DCV, VCAP-CMA, VCDX-NV, VCAP-DCV, VCP-VCF, VCP-NV, VCAP-NV, VCDX-CMA
