VP Information Technology
Role Summary
The purpose of this position is to oversee and manage TFL’s Information Technology Department. The VP-IT is responsible for the day-to-day operations of IT as well as ensuring TFL’s timely and complete responses in the areas of Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance. Success is determined by the timely accomplishment of Organizational Initiatives, and the furthering of organizational objectives.
The VP-IT is responsible for management and oversight of the IT Operations amp; Cybersecurity and Application Administration departments. This includes functional responsibility for network and PC support activity, computer operations, systems administration, planning, infrastructure architecture, security, disaster recovery, and auditing. Management duties include the IT department budgeting, actual vs budget department expense monitoring and assisting Finance department with coordination of IT software/hardware budgeting of other departments.
He/she is responsible for managing execution of projects, through personal leadership and training within the IT Department, and through guiding Organizational Initiatives and special projects to fruition. This position requires extensive communications (both verbal and written); extensive use of the software and related programs; ability to perform tasks in a virtual environment; capacity to handle multiple projects, complex tasks and priorities; Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for ensuring the delivery of superior service across all IT functions and locations.
    • IT: Responsible for all activities relating to the IT Operations amp; Cybersecurity and Application Administration teams. Confers with and advises team on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities, and methods. Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project planning, tracking, and analysis. Responsible for the oversight of network and PC support activity, computer operations, systems administration, planning, infrastructure architecture, and auditing.
      • Technology Strategy and Innovation: Develop and execute a technology strategy aligned with the organization's goals. This includes identifying emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact, and driving innovation initiatives to maintain competitiveness in the industry.
      • Cybersecurity and Data Privacy: Establishing and maintaining robust cybersecurity measures to protect the organization's data and systems from cyber threats.
      • Responsible for management of CFL data centers and disaster recovery capability and evolution
      • Responsible for IT strategy and roadmap development and delivery
  • Vendor and Partner Management: responsible for managing relationships with external vendors and technology partners. This includes vendor selection, contract negotiations, and ensuring that external solutions align with the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Responsible for translating strategic objectives into actionable plans and initiatives. Collaborating with senior leadership to define priorities, allocate resources, and track progress towards goals.
  • Responsible for working with the Leaders Forum management team on Enterprise Risk Management, BCP amp; other committees when needed.
Qualifications amp; Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology field or Business Administration
  • MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in the insurance industry and IT focused
  • 10+ experience in Management
