Seeking anexperiencedVeritas System Administratorto support theCompartmented Enterprise Services Office (CESO) Task Order for the GIG Service Management - Operations II (GSM-O II) contract. This person should be a seasoned, self-motivated, professional with hands-on engineering and testing experience in virtualized environments. A skilled technician knowledgeable and experienced in infrastructure such as code environments, automating patches and system configurations, orchestrating network operations and DevOps pipelines, automating and orchestrating operations, scaling releases, and day-to-day system operations in commercial cloud environments.

With the CESO program, the Defense Information System Agency (DISA) is looking to transform the existing Secure Web Services (SWS) environment, used to provide secure information sharing to the community, into a more mature service offering to meet the DoD and IC community. As part of this task order, we manage the commercial cloud migration and fully automate the continuous development & continuous integration environment, fourth estate consolidation, professionalize services - ITIL/DevSecOps based processes, improve the customer experience 1st call resolution, and achieve development of a service catalog for Defense Working Capital Fund (DWCF) Model.

This position is located in Arlington, VA and is 100% on-site.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the operations, maintenance, and upkeep of the Veritas Netbackup application across multiple CESO Environments (Testing environments, Unclassified and classified environments).
  • Maintaining the appropriate DOD Cyber compliance level as directed by the program Cyber security office via patching and configuration using DISA STIGs.
  • Providing technical input and accomplishing development, deployment and configuration tasks to maintain current operational environment.
  • Monitor backup jobs across multiple platforms.
  • Perform periodic disaster recovery scenarios.
  • Maintain backup policies and standards.
  • Troubleshoot performance problems and propose solutions.
  • Maintain all equipment for backup environment to include servers, and disk storage devices.
  • Manage and execute complex databases backups, particularly in SQL and Oracle environments, to ensure data protection.
  • Create and maintain documentation.
  • Follow and maintain in-house documentation for repeatable processes.
  • Follow ITIL and industry best practices for Change Management

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8-12 years hands on system administration experience; add'l experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • DoD 8570 IAT II certified.
  • Active DoD TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain CI/POLY.
  • 5+ years' experience with Veritas NetBackup 8.x or greater
  • 5+ years' experience with MS-Windows, Solaris, and RHEL/OEL Linux environments
  • 2+ years' experience with VMware 7.x or greater
  • 2+ years' experience with network communication (IP based)
  • Installation and configuration experience with Windows Server 2019, RedHat Enterprise Linux 7 and higher
  • Experience with Windows PowerShell and Bash shell scripting.
  • Experience with NetBackup data protection and VMware Backup.
  • Strong CLI skills
  • Strong understanding TCP/IP communications.
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and willing to be a team player.
