Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Quality Control Manager, the Quality Control Inspector will have dimensional inspection and NDE inspection responsibility on assigned projects. Position will work closely with the Quality Control Coordinator and will be responsible for the coordination and resolution of project specific technical matters. Performs dimensional and NDE Inspections for all products in accordance with the appropriate codes and standards.


Main Job Duties / Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times.
  • Learn and remain current with all code rules and requirements.
  • Ensure acceptable standards of quality are achieved during fabrication by strict visual, dimensional, and NDE inspection of components and products in accordance with drawings, standards, and specifications.
  • Perform UT, MT, PT, VT, and PMI Inspections as required.
  • Respond to shop questions and/or non-conformances.
  • Interface with customer to ensure technical requirements are met.
  • Create, distribute, and revise Quality Plans and Inspection/Test Plans.
  • Calibrate measuring/testing equipment.
  • Perform small repairs, cleaning, and preventative maintenance on inspection equipment
  • Report abnormal conditions of NDE equipment to the Quality Control Manager.
  • Be involved in the development and revision of NDE procedures.
  • Participate in general process improvements and initiatives.

Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

  • Associates degree in Nondestructive Examination or a related field or two or more years of related NDE experience required.
  • Must be qualified or be capable of qualifying to SNT-TC-1A Level II in UT, MT, PT, and, VT.
  • Must pass Jaeger 1 eye examination.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Good multi-tasking capabilities
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel)
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Good judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with very little direct supervision.
  • Effective troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Ability to concentrate in a diverse work setting.
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurability
