As a Chart Industries company, Howden provide mission critical air and gas handling products to clients with our range of highly engineered compressors, blowers, fans, steam turbines and rotary heat exchangers. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in our efforts to package custom turbo fan and turbo blower products. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, project management, and a passion for delivering high-quality, engineered solutions. The Engineering Manager will lead a team of engineering professionals.

Our Beasley, TX facility is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our rotating equipment engineering team in the development and execution of custom turbo compressors and expanders. This role requires excellent management skills, engineering process management, project management, and a passion for delivering high-quality, engineered solutions.  

What Will You Do?

Team Leadership:

Project Management:

  • Oversee engineered-to-order turbo fan and blower system design, development, and delivery, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and project timelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project success, including sales, production, and quality assurance.

Technical Expertise:

  • Provide technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to production.
  • Review and approve engineering designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the product's Centre of Excellence on development of applications, product improvements and requirements for compliance.

Customer Engagement:

  • Act as the primary technical liaison for customers, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Participate in customer meetings and presentations, showcasing our capabilities and expertise.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements in engineering workflows.
  • Implement best practices in design and manufacturing to enhance product quality and reduce lead times.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet project goals.
  • Monitor project expenditures and provide regular financial reports to senior management.
Your Experience Should Be...
  • 5+ years of engineering experience, with at least two years in a leadership role, preferably in the aerospace or industrial sector.
  • Strong knowledge of turbo equipment design principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Proven experience in managing complex engineering projects from conception to completion.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and engineering analysis tools.
