Job Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical and telemetry unit, including monitoring and managing patients with acute and chronic conditions. Monitor patients' vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall condition, using telemetry equipment to detect changes in cardiac status and respond promptly to emergencies. Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments according to physician orders, ensuring proper dosage and monitoring for side effects or adverse reactions. Perform assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients, collaborating with physicians and the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Provide patient education on medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care, promoting patient involvement in their own health management. Assist with wound care, catheterizations, and other medical procedures, adhering to infection control and safety protocols. Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with facility policies. Respond to medical emergencies and changes in patient condition, providing critical care when necessary and coordinating with physicians for advanced interventions. Provide emotional support to patients and their families, helping them cope with illness and treatment. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing education to stay current with medical-surgical and telemetry nursing practices. Job Requirements: Current RN state license in good standing. Minimum of 2 years of experience working in medical-surgical and/or telemetry nursing. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required. Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms. Strong clinical skills, with the ability to perform patient assessments and manage care plans in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with the healthcare team. Organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring patient safety and accurate documentation. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
