Job description

We are seeking a focused and experienced Accountant II with a strong background in restaurant or hospitality accounting. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financials across multiple restaurant entities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare and post journal entries and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Perform general ledger account review and monthly reconciliations.
  • Complete bank reconciliations and verify daily POS sales activity.
  • Enter, review, and code accounts payable invoices using Buyer’s Edge Back Office.
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management reports.
  • Analyze variances between POS systems and accounting records (Focus POS and Toast POS).
  • Oversee and reconcile inventory balances, ensuring accuracy between physical counts, vendor purchases, and system reports.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals and adjusting entries.
  • Collaborate with restaurant managers and accounting team on financial accuracy and improvements.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy while managing multiple entities and deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Focus POS and Toast POS – daily sales reconciliation and variance tracking
  • Buyer’s Edge Back Office – AP entry and cost management
  • QuickBooks Online – general ledger, journal entries, and reporting
  • Yardi Voyager 7S – experience a plus for real estate-related entities
  • Microsoft Excel – advanced knowledge including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and conditional formulas

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in restaurant, hospitality, or multi-entity environments.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual-based accounting.
  • Proven ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all financial tasks.
