Job description

At Tend, we do dentistry differently — without compromising on clinical excellence, precision, or the patient experience. As an Oral Surgeon at Tend, you'll deliver high-quality surgical care in a modern, thoughtfully designed studio equipped with advanced technology and digital workflows. You'll focus on extractions, implant procedures, bone grafting, and complex surgical consultations while partnering closely with our General Dentists, specialists, and clinical teams to ensure seamless, coordinated care. Our model is built for oral surgeons who value collaboration, efficiency, and exceptional outcomes — all while contributing to a patient experience that feels supportive, transparent, and human. You'll join a team that's raising the bar for specialty dentistry — and enjoying the ride along the way.

Tend Oral Surgeons earn 45% of their adjusted production. You'll receive transparency and support to help you thrive — no surprises, just opportunity.

What You'll Do

Deliver high-quality oral and maxillofacial surgical care while creating a calm, supportive, and patient-centered experience at every touchpoint.

  • Perform oral surgery procedures including extractions (simple and complex), implant placement, bone grafting, and management of oral pathology, following best-in-class clinical standards
  • Evaluate patients using diagnostic imaging and clinical assessments to determine surgical needs, develop treatment plans, and clearly explain options, risks, and post-operative care
  • Partner closely with General Dentists and other specialists to ensure coordinated, seamless care and strong clinical outcomes for shared patients
  • Provide emergency evaluation and treatment for orofacial injuries and acute surgical needs, as applicable
  • Prescribe and manage medications to support healing, pain management, and infection control
  • Maintain accurate, thorough clinical documentation to support continuity of care, compliance, and high-quality outcomes
  • Support patients through recovery by providing clear after-care guidance and answering questions throughout the healing process
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative studio environment by working closely with clinical and operational teams to elevate the overall patient experience

Who You Are

You embody our Tend values and demonstrate key competencies that ensure both patient success and team excellence. At Tend, these values aren't just words on a wall — they are essential to how we hire, lead, and collaborate. • Embrace Our Differences – Welcome and value diverse backgrounds, ideas, and feedback. Communicate with respect and trust.
  • Rooted in Growth – Seek ongoing learning and improvement—for yourself and your team.

Role-Based Competencies:

  • Earn and Give Trust – Earn the confidence of patients and teammates through honesty, transparency, and follow-through.
  • Lead with Clinical Judgement – Make sound clinical decisions grounded in data, evidence, and patient needs.
  • Empower Your Team – Set clear goals, delegate effectively, and help your team succeed.

What You Have

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree
  • Successful completion of an accredited oral surgery residency program
  • Current, active dental license in the state where you will practice
  • CPR/BLS certification
  • Board certification in Oral Surgery (preferred)
  • Technical proficiency with digital imaging and treatment planning tools
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and staying current on clinical advancements
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to educate and reassure patients in a calm, clear manner
  • A collaborative mindset and leadership approach that helps build an inclusive, high-performing team
  • High attention to detail, professional integrity, and a passion for delivering predictable, high-quality outcomes
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that meets patient and studio needs
  • Ability to work a [Full-Time or Part-Time] schedule consisting of [insert days/schedule]

Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to perform the essential job duties listed, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to handle dental instruments and perform precise procedures.
  • Adequate vision (with or without correction) to read charts, interpret radiographs, and operate clinical equipment.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and maintain ergonomic positioning for patient care.
  • Occasional lifting or movement of equipment and supplies up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, team members, and other healthcare professionals in person and via technology.
