Description

The Middleby Corporation is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Protein Processing Showroom Technician to anchor daily operations within our state-of-the-art Protein Innovation Center (PIC). The PIC serves as our premier global showcase for cutting-edge food processing technology. In this highly visible role, you will be a vital driver of the facility's success-supporting live equipment demonstrations, maintaining pristine facility readiness, coordinating specialized supply chains, and assisting culinary and engineering teams with product development and testing.

The ideal candidate brings a hands-on approach, experience within food manufacturing or meat processing environments, and the exceptional organizational skills required to deliver a world-class customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Showroom Readiness & Food Safety:
    • Maintain the Protein Innovation Center in a flawless, organized, and "showcase-ready" condition at all times.
    • Lead the teardown, deep cleaning, and sanitization of industrial food processing machinery and surfaces following events and live demonstrations.
    • Uphold and enforce strict food safety and quality procedures in rigorous alignment with Codex Alimentarius and GFSI guidelines.
  • Technical & Culinary Demonstration Support:
    • Provide hands-on operational support for protein applications, including marination, curing, and thermal processing.
    • Actively assist in troubleshooting equipment issues, identifying operational variables, and diagnosing system deficiencies during testing.
    • Maintain and organize test kitchen inventory, tabletop equipment, specialized ingredients, and small appliances.
  • Logistics, Inventory & Vendor Coordination:
    • Source, negotiate, and coordinate the delivery of raw protein products, chemical components, and ingredients from external vendors.
    • Maintain meticulous records regarding center scheduling, protein inventory levels, supply chains, and daily operational logs.
  • Client Experience & Administration:
    • Communicate professionally and seamlessly with internal executive teams, global customers, and external vendors across all verbal and digital channels.
    • Assist in developing, organizing, and updating training materials and programs for the center.
    • Manage multiple concurrent project timelines with sharp attention to detail, maintaining agility when unexpected operational challenges arise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with high-speed food manufacturing equipment, preferably within meat processing environments
  • Strong understanding of beef and pork primal cuts, processed meats, and food product development
  • Knowledge of ingredients, sanitation practices, and food processing operations
  • Basic understanding of meat and poultry laboratory science and ingredient functionality
  • Familiarity with USDA/FDA food safety regulations and HACCP principles
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally to pick up supplies and ingredients

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) experience or certification
  • Experience supporting food processing demonstrations, innovation centers, or test kitchens
