Job description

What We Are Looking For The primary purpose of the Operator role will be using heavy equipment to move various commodities within the terminal. What You Will Do * Operator heavy equipment such as front-end loader, sweeper, skid steers, excavators, forklifts, and conveyors to move commodities: salt, fertilizer, soda ash, steel, and other various dry bulk commodities * Loading and unloading services by truck, rail, vessel and barge * Processing and packaging commodities * Perform mechanical maintenance on heavy equipment, as needed * Other duties as assigned What You Need Education: * High school diploma or equivalent Required Qualifications: * Must have a good mechanical aptitude * Prior experience operating heavy equipment such as front end loaders, forklifts, sweeper operation and conveyors * Must have knowledge and experience with packaging and palletizing equipment; must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions majority of the time will be working outside * The ability to work from written and verbal instructions * Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisors(s), adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules, as well as take on other duties as assigned * Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers * Typical hours for this position are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. * Must be willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed * Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and high level of performance * Positively interact with customers and respond to customer inquiries * Basic computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, various operating systems, and other company software) Preferred Qualifications: * CDL Working Conditions: * Able to lift as much as 50 lbs. as high as waist level * Must be able to climb ladders and stairs and raise your body weight as high as four feet * Must not have a fear of water or heights * The ability to swim is a plus * Ability to take initiative and work with coworkers to accomplish defined goals in a fast-paced environment Why Join Kinder Morgan Kinder Morgan is a large energy infrastructure company operating in North America.
