What are temporary lumpers?

Temporary lumpers are workers who are hired on a short-term basis, usually through staffing agencies, to help load and unload freight in warehouses, distribution centers, or at shipping docks. Their main duties involve manually moving goods, organizing shipments, and sometimes assisting with inventory. Temporary lumpers are essential for businesses that experience fluctuations in shipping volume or need extra help during peak seasons.

Reliability, teamwork, and attention to detail are essential soft skills that help ensure efficiency and safety. These skills and qualities are crucial for maintaining smooth warehouse operations and preventing workplace injuries.
