Job Title: Audio Engineer

Department: Production

Reports to: Audio Director

Status: Full-Time | Hourly

Schedule: Sun - Thurs| 40 Hours

New Life Church's mission is to make disciples in the Pikes Peak region, by calling people to worship, connect and serve.

Job Summary:

To serve New Life Church by providing audio support required for worship services, events, and other church functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up and strike audio equipment for services, events, and conferences.
  • Keep on site venues in a state of readiness.
  • Serve as FOH Engineer for weekly services as assigned.
  • Serve as Broadcast Engineer for weekly services as assigned.
  • Schedule personnel for upcoming events needing audio support.
  • Record and mix podcasts as needed.
  • Repair broken audio equipment.
  • Train audio volunteers to a competent level of technical ability.
  • Maintain all campus audio systems.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and additional meetings as required.
  • Operate equipment for other events and services as needed.
  • Assist with additional projects and events on an as-needed basis.
  • Interface with other departments and outside contacts to exchange information, answer inquiries, and secure cooperation or approval on action to be taken.
  • Manage and respond to calls and emails as needed.
  • Assist the department in coordinating various tasks and procedures.
  • Communicate regularly with supervisor about departmental issues.
  • Assist supervisor with special projects, events, and diverse tasks in support of the department.
  • Utilize a thorough understanding of New Life Church employee policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate ongoing financial support for ministries of New Life Church.
  • Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment.
  • Cooperate with leadership by performing any other duties when asked to do so.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Posess a capacity to consistently create compelling mixes.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in digital mixing consoles and signal flow.
  • Possess knowledge of Waves Plug-Ins and Avid Pro Tools.
  • Posess the ability to develop via self-assessment and direct feedback.
  • Possess strong computer skills, including familiarity, experience and ability to navigate and produce documents within a variety of software applications (MS Office Suite, Asana, LucidChart) and strong internet researching skills.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate good analytical skills to extract data and draw conclusions.
  • Present excellent grammar skills and written communication skills.

Education and Experience:

Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Technical degree in audio engineering preferred.

Business school, associate degree or equivalent.

Experience: 2 years of related experience

Working Conditions and Requirements of Office Environment

Physical Demands:

  • Moderate to considerable physical activity; requires handling of objects up to 50 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, climbing ladders, bending, and squatting, crawling in tight spaces, and use of protective equipment.
  • Work environment may involve some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
  • Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
