Individuals will provide classroom leadership as they strive to manage a program that exceeds organizational standards and corporate expectations. Assistant Teacher Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for the daily planning, management, and supervision of the classroom and children. Generally, is assisted in the classroom by a teacher. Assistant Teacher are responsible for ensuring that all parents, children, and classroom staff concerns are appropriately addressed.
  • Ensures that appearance, cleanliness and safe environment of the classroom are appropriately maintained.
  • Completes all academy and lead teacher classroom paperwork: for example, daily notes, student accident reports, attendance reports.
  • Manage all academy and classroom paperwork are in proper order for the classroom: for example, daily notes, accident reports, and attendance reports
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings, academy events, and parent meetings as requested
  • Communicates appropriate information to parents; maintains developmental profiles for children.
  • Reports any problems to the teacher-in-charge or the director.
  • Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children.
Meets all state requirements for the position. 1 to 2 years of experience working in group child care (preferred).
