Job description

Description:

Join our team of experienced heavy equipment operators specializing in quarry and project site operations in central and south Florida. We produce rip rap and specialty aggregate materials across multiple project sites and rock quarries. This role involves operating heavy equipment, ensuring workplace safety, and maintaining production targets. If you're a dependable team player with a strong work ethic, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
Compensation and Benefits:

  • Pay: Starting at $23-$24+/hour based on experience and skills.
  • Hours: Expected 40โ€“55 hours per week, including regular overtime.
  • Benefits: Health insurance; 401(k) with company matching; Paid time off for vacation and sick days; 8 paid holidays each year

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment, including excavators, wheel loaders, hydraulic hammers, and mobile crusher/screeners.
  • Produce high-quality aggregate materials while achieving production targets.
  • Perform routine servicing and maintenance on equipment.
  • Load materials onto trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Follow all MSHA and OSHA workplace safety standards.
  • Collaborate with a team of 2โ€“3 operators to ensure smooth and productive operations.
  • Maintain compliance with safety and production standards.
  • Keep accurate records of operations and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in heavy equipment operation (required).
  • Strong skills in handling excavators, wheel loaders, hydraulic hammers, and mobile crusher/screeners.
  • Quarry or mining experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • MSHA training preferred; OSHA 10 Construction training is required (provided if necessary).
  • Valid driverโ€™s license (required).
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and capable of working well in a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.

Additional Information:

  • Mileage reimbursement for commutes exceeding 30 miles from home to a work location.
  • Limited overnight travel, with all travel expenses and daily per diem covered.
  • Job Type: Full-time.
  • Work Location: Multiple sites within central and northern Florida.
