As Partnership Director, you will lead the strategy and execution of key partnerships across the organization, ensuring they deliver meaningful business impact. You will develop go-to-market plans for partnerships initiatives and coordinate cross-functionally to scope, execute, and activate initiatives. Working closely with the Head of Partnerships, you will drive seamless execution and performance of partnership efforts. In addition, you will build and refine the partnership playbook and operating model to scale and govern partnerships effectively across the organization.


Responsibilities

Partnership Execution & Stakeholder Leadership

  • Partner with the business units to identify pain points and value drivers, and translate them into partnership opportunities that serve the innovation economy
  • Partner with senior business unit and functional leaders to develop and execute commercial plans, including distribution strategy, lead generation, marketing/PR, operations, risk and compliance, and technical integration
  • Define and implement performance management and synergy tracking frameworks (e.g., KPIs, scorecards, etc.) and monitor success on ongoing basis

Partner Development & Ecosystem Engagement

  • Identify and engage prospective partners that deliver value to SVB clients, enhance product offers or unlock new distribution channels
  • Negotiate and secure mutually beneficial partnerships that support both SVB clients and the SVB business units
  • Build and maintain a strong presence within the innovation economy ecosystem, developing relationships with key partners and industry stakeholders to strengthen the brand and expand partnership opportunities

Strategy & Operating Model

  • Own and evolve the Partnership operating model and playbooks to meet business and enterprise needs
  • Lead annual planning and business reviews, ensuring partnership strategy and operating model remain aligned in a dynamic environment
  • Develop and lead strategic portfolio reviews to assess performance and optimize partnership impact
  • Align partnerships with cross enterprise strategy, objectives & roadmap
  • Identify synergies (revenue and cost) and while minimizing operational friction for the business
  • Navigate organizational dynamics and develop plans to bridge cultural and operational differences across partners and internal stakeholders

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in partnerships, OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in partnerships.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of relevant professional experience required
    • Previous experience in innovation economy partnerships preferred
    • Experience in commercial banking products and services; ideally experience with LFI risk and compliance
  • Ability to quickly secure buy-in from senior leaders across the organization
  • Ability to motivate and create enthusiasm while working through others – trainer, coach, and mentor
  • Results focused, attentive to detail, and process-oriented
  • Senior individual with proven track record
  • Strong communicator and polished presenter
  • Comfortable with leading teams through ambiguity

Preferred Area of Experience: Commercial partnerships, commercial banking, LFI experience 

The base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is generally $177,000-$236,000 per year. This position is eligible for variable compensation, which may be in the form of incentive, bonus, or commission pay.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in partnerships, OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in partnerships.

    • Previous experience in innovation economy partnerships preferred
