Position Summary

Located within the beautiful Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort, Marina Bar & Grill offers a vibrant waterfront dining experience where exceptional service and memorable guest interactions are at the heart of everything we do.

The Server Assistant plays an essential role in supporting the restaurant team by ensuring tables are properly maintained, food is delivered efficiently, and guests receive prompt, friendly, and attentive service. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, enjoys working as part of a collaborative team, and takes pride in creating outstanding guest experiences.

What You’ll Do

  • Support servers and bartenders to provide exceptional guest service throughout each shift
  • Assist with delivering food and beverages to guests promptly and accurately
  • Clear, clean, and reset tables quickly and efficiently
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, service stations, and outdoor seating areas
  • Refill water glasses, condiments, napkins, and other guest necessities
  • Assist with polishing silverware, stocking supplies, and side work duties
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team members to ensure smooth service operations
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond professionally and courteously
  • Help maintain a welcoming, upbeat, and team-oriented atmosphere
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and resort service standards
  • Assist during high-volume periods, special events, and peak meal times

Qualifications

  • Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred, but not required
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional appearance and guest-focused mindset
  • Dependable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling, including weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift and carry trays, dishes, and restaurant supplies up to 30 pounds regularly
  • Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, pushing, and pulling
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions
  • Must be able to safely navigate crowded dining areas and service stations
  • Manual dexterity required for handling food service items and restaurant equipment
  • Must be able to walk up and down stairs as well as walk on a boat dock
