About the Opportunity
This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.

The Cascade Administration team operates within FirstEnergy's Asset Management and Records Control (AMRC) department, supporting Transmission and Distribution by managing and configuring the Cascade asset management application. This group is responsible for application administration, including system configurations, user access, and integration coordination, to enable compliance, reliability, and asset management activities. Additional responsibilities include overseeing software upgrades, collaborating with IT and vendors, and maintaining documentation and training resources.
This is a full-time, on-site position located at any FirstEnergy location (OH, PA, WV, NJ).
Responsibilities Include:
  • Coordinate and perform administration and configuration of Cascade Substation and Transmission Line applications and interfaces, including upgrades, enhancements, and defect mitigation to support maintenance practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize project management skills to lead projects related to Cascade Asset Management applications, including upgrades, system integrations, and new processes.
  • Collaborate with Transmission Line and Substation Maintenance engineers, Information Technology, and other internal stakeholders, as well as external software vendors, on Cascade-related projects and system improvements.
  • Develop and implement user and data security enhancements to improve Cascade data integrity and security.
  • Support development of Power BI reports and other tools requiring Cascade data for management and FE users.
  • Develop conceptual and detailed designs for application software, flowcharts, diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Develop and execute test cases and scripts to validate system functionality, and document results.
  • Analyze and interpret prints and vendor instruction manuals.
  • Conduct technical research, analyze complex data, interpret results, and provide actionable recommendations based on sound reasoning.
  • Develop and document business processes, standards, and guidelines to ensure consistent, sustainable operations and improve work products.
  • Provide high-level customer service and continuous support to leadership, peers, and FE Utilities personnel regarding technical subject matter and substation asset information.
  • Support the Emergency Plan by participating in assigned storm duties, including hazard response and dispatch activities.
  • Support Asset Management and Operational Excellence business plan and initiatives as required.
  • Demonstrate a solid commitment to all aspects of safety and other FirstEnergy Values and Behaviors.
Qualifications include:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Data Analytics, or a related technical discipline, with minimum of three (3) years of experience administering, configuring, or supporting enterprise asset management systems (e.g., Cascade, Maximo or SAP) including enhancements, integrations, data governance, and operational improvement initiatives.
  • In lieu of degree, five (5) years of relevant technical work experience will be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of transmission & distribution systems and associated equipment.
  • Experience utilizing asset management software tools, including Cascade, Maximo, and SAP, for operational efficiency.
  • Strong understanding of asset management system principles, including data integrity, version control, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, and IT teams to implement configuration changes and optimize asset performance.
  • Excellent customer relations skills and strong communication skills to make clear, accurate and concise oral and written reports.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks to completion within established deadlines and with a high degree of quality, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Experience in data analytics tools ( such as PowerBI, QlikView, or Tableau) or database programming languages ( such as SQL, Python, R) is preferred.

FirstEnergy takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. In addition, your actual base salary will depend on various factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience.
The estimated pay range for this role is $71,400 - $133,800. The pay range for certain locations, including the state of New Jersey, include a 20% differential to account for an increased cost of living, making the pay range $85,680 - $160,560
