Job description

Job Description SummaryOrganization's Summary Statement:
Department of Kinesiology invites applications for Adjunct faculty positions in the area of Exercise Science and/or Sports Management. Resumes will be reviewed on an ongoing basis as needed each semester.
Salary: $3,189.00
Benefits: Generous benefits include medical, prescription, dental, and accidental death & dismemberment. The medical benefits are subject to subsidy restrictions based upon number of courses taught. Voluntary participation in supplemental retirement accounts (SRAs) to include TIAA, Fidelity, or MSRP-Nationwide; participation in state sponsored MetLife life insurance and/or USM sponsored MetLife life insurance plan; long term disability insurance, and the employee assistance program.
Responsibilities:
Teach and develop courses in Exercise Science and/or Sports Management
particularly in the following courses:
Exercise Science: first year experience seminar, personal health and
fitness, introduction to exercise science, personal and community
health, intermediate swimming, sport psychology, contemporary issues
in kinesiology, sport medicine and first aid, exercise physiology,
exercise testing and prescription, exercise and sport nutrition, applied
kinesiology, health aspects of aging, health fitness management, adult
health fitness programming, and/or advanced strength and
conditioning.
Sport Management: intro to sport management, facility management,
leadership in sport, sport governance, sport marketing, interscholastic
and intercollegiate athletic administration, sport business, and/or sport
finance and economics.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
M.S. or Ph.D. in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Sports Management, other
health/business related field.
A commitment to teaching a diverse population of undergraduate students
at the university level.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to work effectively and collegially with faculty and staff.
Physical Demands:
May require extended periods of standing, bending, stooping, sitting at
desk.
May require lifting.
Requires communication with a variety of constituents externally and
internally.
Requires operation of a variety of office equipment.Additional Information
