As part of the Regulatory and Risk Advisory (RRA) practice, our risk management professionals provide a broad range of risk advisory services to organizations across industries including development and implementation of risk operating models, risk function set-up, process/tech/data enablement and design of specialized risk programs (e.g., regulatory compliance management, market conduct obligation compliance, payments rules compliance and open banking readiness). Our goal is to help our clients increase their overall risk governance and performance and ultimately make better risk informed decisions.

We are looking for a Senior Manager to join our exciting and growing practice in Toronto with a specialized focus on Regulatory Compliance Transformation in Regulatory Compliance Management programs, and Consumer / Investor Protection and Open Banking frameworks. The successful candidate will have an important role in delivering end-to-end client engagements as well as driving various internal and market facing Regulatory initiatives. You will also have the opportunity to work across industries, service lines and geographies to take on challenging and groundbreaking projects while building strong relationships with our fantastic people and developing skills that will help set you up for success.


What you will do
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of multiple concurrent client engagements across regulatory transformation, compliance management and non-financial risk programs
  • Lead engagement staffing and resource allocation decisions by aligning team composition to client needs, required expertise, team member availability, development opportunities, and prior engagement experience to optimize delivery quality, team growth and operational efficiency
  • Establish and manage engagement governance structures, delivery plans, workstreams, RAID logs, status reporting and executive steering processes
  • Drive engagement execution with strong oversight of timelines, scope, dependencies, deliverables, budgets, staffing, utilization and financial performance
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams consisting of subject matter specialists, risk professionals, analysts and client stakeholders
  • Ensure consistent delivery quality, adherence to engagement methodology and achievement of client outcomes across all phases of delivery
  • Identify delivery risks and proactively implement mitigation and escalation strategies
  • Drive disciplined engagement management practices including resource planning, forecasting, budgeting, margin management and change control
  • Lead internal and external status meetings, steering committees and executive updates
  • Oversee the development and review of high-quality client deliverables and presentations
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders throughout the engagement lifecycle
  • Support business development activities including proposals, statements of work, project planning and engagement scoping
  • Lead and mentor engagement teams by fostering accountability, collaboration and delivery excellence
  • Develop and institutionalize engagement delivery best practices, methodologies, playbooks, templates and training programs to strengthen engagement discipline, operational rigor and delivery excellence across the Regulatory & Risk Advisory practice

What you bring to the role
  • 8+ years of experience in consulting, program management, engagement management or large-scale project delivery within a professional services environment
  • Proven experience leading multiple concurrent client engagements with accountability for delivery quality, timelines, budgets, staffing and client satisfaction
  • Strong consulting background from a professional services firm
  • Demonstrated expertise in engagement governance, PMO leadership, workstream coordination, executive reporting and stakeholder management
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in complex and fast-paced environments
  • Strong commercial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, utilization management and engagement financial oversight
  • Exceptional organizational, communication and executive presentation skills
  • Experience within financial services, regulated industries, regulatory compliance, operational risk, non-financial risk or transformation programs is considered an asset
  • PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or other project/program management certifications are considered an asset

KPMG Ontario Region Pay Range Information
The expected base salary range for this position is $120,000-$170,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
