We are looking for a highly driven Strategic Business Development Representative (BDR) to help expand relationships with Private Equity firms and portfolio companies throughout the United States.

About the Role

This is not a traditional “appointment setter” role.

We are looking for someone who can operate strategically, communicate professionally with executives, and help open doors within PE firms and their portfolio companies.

You will be responsible for:

  • outbound prospecting,
  • account-based outreach,
  • cold calling,
  • LinkedIn engagement,
  • relationship development,
  • generate qualified meetings for the leadership team.

You will work directly with leadership to help build relationships across the private equity ecosystem.

Responsibilities

Outbound Prospecting & Business Development

  • Execute outbound outreach campaigns targeting:
    • Private Equity firms
    • Operating Partners
    • CFOs
    • CEOs
    • Finance leaders
    • PE-backed portfolio companies
  • Conduct cold calls, email outreach, LinkedIn messaging, and follow-up sequences
  • Build and manage account-based outreach campaigns
  • Research target accounts and identify key decision makers
  • Create personalized messaging based on company initiatives, growth stage, and hiring needs
  • Generate qualified meetings and sales opportunities

Relationship Development

  • Build long-term relationships with PE firms and portfolio company leadership teams
  • Engage prospects professionally and confidently in live conversations
  • Maintain consistent follow-up and pipeline activity
  • Represent Halo Recruiting professionally in all interactions

CRM & Sales Operations

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and activity tracking
  • Manage outreach workflows using HubSpot, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and sequencing tools
  • Track pipeline activity and reporting metrics
  • Collaborate with leadership on target account strategy

Qualifications

Required

  • 1–4 years of experience in:
    • Business Development
    • SDR/BDR
    • Staffing Sales
    • Recruiting Sales
    • SaaS Sales
    • Professional Services Sales
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable making outbound cold calls
  • Experience using CRM and sales engagement platforms
  • Highly organized and process-oriented
