Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator to support day‑to‑day logistics and transportation operations. This role is responsible for overseeing the efficient movement of products, coordinating shipments, and ensuring successful and compliant logistics operations. This role will collaborate with suppliers, carriers and across all company departments to facilitate timely and cost-effective delivery of products and inventory management.

This is a hands‑on role ideal for someone who thrives in fast‑paced operations, understands hazardous materials logistics, and enjoys optimizing processes to support business growth.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and schedule inbound and outbound shipments to meet customer and operational requirements
  • Oversee environmental drivers (tankers, roll‑offs, dry vans) and logistics office staff
  • Manage the shipment, inventory, and tracking of hazardous and universal waste
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, RCRA, safety, and internal quality standards
  • Prepare and review shipping documents including Bills of Lading, manifests, labels, and customs forms
  • Monitor shipment progress, resolve delays, and communicate updates to internal and external partners
  • Optimize transportation routes and shipping methods to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Maintain rail car and tank inventory tracking, including sampling and analytics coordination
  • Analyze logistics data and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities
  • Support process improvement initiatives to streamline supply chain and logistics operations
  • Manage driver performance, timecards, evaluations, and DOT renewals
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (preferred)
  • 3–5 years of experience in logistics, dispatch, or transportation operations
  • Strong working knowledge of DOT and RCRA regulations
  • Proficient with logistics software, tracking systems, and Microsoft Office
  • Industry certifications are a plus
  • Knowledge of Southeast Michigan and Northeast Ohio routes preferred
