Within Societe Generale Investment Banking, GBTO/FIC (Global Banking & Trading Operations - Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities) supports the endtoend operational lifecycle of Fixed Income, FX, and related trading products.

The department ensures the reliability and performance of fronttoback trading systems, providing pricing, market connectivity, marketmaking tools, risk analysis, and posttrade processing. GBTO/FIC partners closely with Front Office, Risk, Finance, and Technology to manage operational risk and deliver scalable, compliant solutions.

The team plays a critical role in process optimization, issue resolution, and regulatory control adherence, enabling efficient, timely, and secure trading operations across the firm.

Position Overview

The New York team is part of a global organization supporting trading activity across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. As the business continues to evolve, we are seeking a dynamic and motivated Application Support Manager to build and maintain a robust technology and operational environment that enables the business to achieve its strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. People and Resource Management

  • Lead, supervise, and develop the local support team, including participation in recruitment
  • Manage team schedules to ensure efficient business coverage
  • Navigate and manage staff turnover while ensuring continuity of service
  • Support team members in the evolution of their roles, responsibilities, and career paths
  • Drive competency development and ensure skill diversification within the team
  • Assess team performance using skills matrices and report regularly to management
  • Maintain regular communication on priorities, strategy, and ongoing initiatives
  • Promote collaboration with Development teams, Global Middle Office, and Back Office
  • Act as a change enabler, fostering an environment that challenges and improves existing processes

2. IT Production and Application Support Management

  • Oversee incident tracking and resolution, ensuring proper documentation and followup
  • Improve production stability and user experience through effective problem management
  • Partner with development teams to enhance user satisfaction for new features and applications
  • Contribute to release management to minimize production impact and accelerate timetomarket
  • Participate in business, infrastructure, and IT governance forums
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory constraints, internal IT standards, and processes
  • Communicate effectively using appropriate channels across stakeholders
  • Coordinate with global support teams (Paris and Asia) to ensure consistent service quality
  • Enforce support best practices and ITILaligned processes

3. Operational Activities Management

  • Oversee the booking, reporting, and control of financial operations executed by Front Office
  • Manage trading desk positions and lifecycle events on trades
  • Ensure deal control processes are enforced to guarantee timely and accurate trade booking
  • Review lifecycle events on FIC products and monitor position controls
  • Review of the Front Office to Back Office reconciliations and reports
  • Maintain uptodate operational procedures and documentation
  • Act as a key point of contact for audits and inspections
  • Liaise between Front Office, Back Office, and Product Control
  • Provide adhoc support to traders and sales teams
  • Monitor STP processes to ensure prompt and accurate trade flow to Back Office systems

4. Operational Risk Management

  • Lead the implementation and regular review of procedures covering all services and processes
  • Ensure daily controls are executed effectively
  • Contribute to operational risk event and loss reporting to management
  • Support Business Continuity Plan (BCP) updates and participate in BCP testing
  • Track and implement recommendations from internal audit, external audit, and inspections

Professional Competencies

  • Solid experience within the financial services industry
  • Strong knowledge of Fixed Income and derivative products (Swaps, Futures, Options, Forwards, FX, Corporate Bonds, Treasuries)
  • Good understanding of trading systems and fronttoback processes
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a pragmatic mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across technical and business audiences

Experience & Education

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years in application support, development, or business analysis roles supporting trading and sales teams
  • Minimum 3 years of peoplemanagement experience in a financial services environment

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent (required)
  • Degree in Finance and/or ITIL certification (preferred)
