DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

Within SOCIETE GENERALE's Corporate and Investment Banking division, the EQD/CCT (Client Connectivity) group is responsible for the implementation and management of all clients on the FIX platform.  The New York team is part of a global organization supporting electronic connectivity and trading activity in America, Europe, and Asia.  The Client Connectivity team supports the rapidly growing New York trading desk with a combination of locally developed and vendor-based systems.

The business supported relates to a full Cash Equities trading portfolio including Program, Care and DMA/DSA trading, and a full Listed Derivatives trading platform.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Societe Generale is seeking a strong FIX Analyst to expand their highly successful, fully automated computerized trading franchise.  This role is to provide FIX engineering skills to onboard new multi-asset clients to trade electronically across the various business lines within Societe Generale.  This is a unique opportunity for a FIX Analyst to become a key contributor and work side by side with this firm's highly talented team of software engineers, quantitative strategists, and traders on cutting-edge technology and sophisticated quantitative strategies.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

       Perform the full lifecycle of client FIX onboarding including liaison with clients, configuration management, full end to end testing, static data setup, etc.

       Work directly with major FIX networks & OMS providers to enhance and improve their electronic offering available to clients of Societe Generale

       To work closely with the business to estimate, prioritize and schedule work across clients

       Manage the day to day workload of client onboardings and to keep the business informed of progress

       To be pro-active and escalate risks & issues to their line manager on the setup or onboarding of a client connection

       Strong problem-solving ability to create solutions to bespoke client requirements

       Collaborating with trading and technology teams on trading strategies and algorithm implementations.

       Build strong working relationships with clients, co-workers, and the business

       Strong attention to detail, as the role involves making production changes to the FIX infrastructure when onboarding new clients

       To provide second line support to the Production Support Teams with regards to the diagnosis of issues

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Required:

       Knowledge & practical experience of using the FIX protocol and trading platforms

       Basic understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP & multicast

       Familiarity with Linux platform.

       Knowledge of Java

Desired/Plus:

       Exposure to Agile methodologies

       Knowledge of Algorithmic Trading

       Basic understanding of SQL

PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE

Required:

       Prior experience working with Equities or Derivatives in an electronic trading environment

       Experience in the setup and use of any FIX engine (i.e., Fidessa Portal, Itiviti)

COMPETENCIES

Required:

       Capable of working in an autonomous fashion or as part of a larger project team

       Strong communication skills, including the ability to plan and prioritize

       Self-motivation and intellectual curiosity; desire to continually grow and always seek improvements

       Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Desired/Plus:

       Financial markets knowledge a plus

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

       Degree in Computer Science / Information System or Professional work experience in a similar position
