Job description

We are seeking a skilled Hand Bindery Supervisorto join our Garner, NC facility. This individual will grow and develop their skills while overseeing all aspects of the manual finishing processes in production. The supervisor will ensure efficiency, maintain high-quality standards, and lead a time in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily operations of the hand bindery department, ensuring production schedules and deadlines are met while exceeding quality expectations and budgetary goals.
  • Assist in scheduling projects in hand bindery as needed to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to department leads while managing a workforce of temporary employees.
  • Conduct interviews, provide counseling, and conduct performance reviews as needed.
  • Order consumable materials for the department (Shrinkfilm, Strap material, Tapes, etc..).
  • Monitoring incoming jobs and planning/requesting temporary labor accordingly.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance of all equipment and ensure that all equipment is in safe working order at all times.
  • Ensure all departmental housekeeping standards are followed and maintained consistently.
  • Conduct regular employee trainings including safety and technical trainings.
  • Review and update departmental SOPs as needed.
  • Provide regular reports to plant management on various KPIs.
  • Ability to set up and run all equipment in the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Manufacturing, printing experience preferred.
  • Effective organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong use of Excel and other Office software applications.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, written and verbal.
  • Prompt and regular attendance.
  • Ability to regularly sit, stand, and walk.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
