Job description

Shoreline Fruit is the largest tart cherry producer in North America operating nearly 7000 acres of cherry orchards right here in Michigan, growing and processing over 40 million pounds of cherries each year. We are a grower owned company built from two families' stories filled with pride and hard work that continues to grow in its reach of customers here and around the globe. Working at our production facility, you will be joining the team that processes the finest cherry products and other dried fruits available anywhere in the world. We are dedicated to the continuous improvement of our products, processes, people, and in becoming a better employer every day.
Day Shift: 6:45p.m. 7:00a.m. 4 day rotational schedule (4 days on- 4 days off)

The Production Team Leader directly works with employees and coordinates the activities of production or packaging operations ensuring the processes are running effectively and efficiently. They are builders of a team culture in which members are developing their skills and knowledge in a welcoming and supportive environment that we want to work in.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Use empowerment, trust, and other strategies to develop, engage, and motivate team members to improve every day.
  • Review daily pass down with Production Supervisor and/or prior shift Team Leader to receive information pertaining to product being produced or packaged.
  • Communicate expectations, assignments, and responsibilities clearly and professionally.
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production and packaging of product.
  • Adjust labor assignments as needed to maximize effective performance and meet fluctuating production goals.
  • Ensure all products are produced or packaged efficiently making adjustments to equipment/processes to maintain quality standards.
  • Remove barriers and help solve problems to their root cause, collaborating well across the business to find answers and solutions.
  • Coordinate employee training on safety procedures, equipment operations, work needing to be performed, and lead continuous improvement efforts.
  • Complete with accuracy all required production data and necessary forms.
  • Observe and help hold the team accountable for all company policies to include Safety and Quality.

Minimum Position Requirements:
  • Passion for helping others succeed.
  • Clear communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required if appropriate skills are possessed.
  • Some computer skills working with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams), and the ability/desire to learn.
  • Job requires being on your feet most of the shift.
