QA Inspector

Location: Hampton Roads, VA
Industry: Marine / Shipyard / Industrial
Schedule: Full Time

Tidewater Staffing is currently seeking an experienced QA Inspector to support shipyard and industrial projects throughout the Hampton Roads area. This position is responsible for helping ensure work is completed according to company, client, OSHA, and NAVSEA quality standards and specifications.

The ideal candidate will have experience performing inspections within marine, coatings, or industrial environments and be comfortable working directly with production teams, safety personnel, and project management.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspections on shipyard and industrial projects
• Verify workmanship, materials, and processes meet project specifications and standards
• Conduct visual inspections and document findings accurately
• Assist with quality assurance tracking, reports, and inspection records
• Help maintain compliance with OSHA and NAVSEA requirements
• Communicate inspection results with supervisors and project teams
• Support corrective action processes when deficiencies are identified
• Maintain professionalism and attention to detail in active production environments

Qualifications

• Previous QA inspection experience in marine, industrial, or shipyard environments preferred
• NAVSEA Basic Paint Inspector certification strongly preferred
• Knowledge of coatings, surface preparation, and industrial quality standards preferred
• NACE certification is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret specifications, procedures, and technical documents
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Ability to work in physically demanding shipyard environments as needed
