The Senior Manager, Medical Communications and Medical Education bridges clinical expertise with commercial strategy to ensure balanced, accurate, and evidence-based education.The Senior Manager of Medical Communications & Education is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing high-impact educational programs for Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and internal stakeholders. These may include, but are not limited to, publications, congress-related activities, accredited education, promotional webinars and websites/digital tools, and advisory board/expert panel meetings. In addition, the position holder is responsible for receipt of educational grants and submission for review by the grant committee, management of the accredited education database, literature searches, and retrieval of publications.
Main Responsibilities, Activities, Duties, and Tasks
  • Plan and coordinate medical communication and education activities with colleagues in Medical and Marketing teams.
  • Prepare and edit manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed scientific/medical journals, abstracts and posters for congress presentations, plan symposia, advisory boards, etc.
  • Develop scientific materials including presentations, book chapters, tables, diagrams, and charts for the scientific/medical community.
  • Manage projects and medical education companies to ensure timely and accurate deliverables within established budget.
  • Perform quality reviews of content/materials before release.
  • Engage healthcare professionals (HCPs) to participate in medical communications and education programs and coordinate logistics.
  • Initiate and manage medical education companies' contracts and HCPs consultancy agreements
  • Provide status reports to the department head for ongoing projects, including timelines, criticalities, and potential issues.
  • Participate in global and local cross-functional teams including, but not limited to, modality Working Group meetings, Grant committee and Global Investigator Initiated Research Committee.
  • Perform literature searches utilizing online scientific databases
  • Retrieve and review references; prepare literature summary reports and data tables
  • Order scientific papers, books, and journals upon request
  • Provide support for preparation and review of scientific product-related content including promotional slide presentations, clinical product profile, etc.
  • Receive, review, and process educational grant proposals; coordinate and manage grant committee meetings; and communicate committee decisions to grant requestors.
  • Maintain compliance with GM&RA SOPs and policies; Bracco Guiding Principles and company values; and regulations and guidelines governing interactions with HCPs s and medical communications and educational activities.
  • Ability to travel up to 5-10%

Education
  • BA/BS degree in Life Sciences; MS, PhD or PharmD preferred.

Professional Experience, Knowledge & Technical Skills
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in pharmaceutical industry or medical communications agency in preparing, reviewing, and delivering scientific content:
  • Publication experience including writing scientific manuscripts and abstracts
  • Creating scientific content and presentations
  • Managing program logistics for advisory board meetings and faculty
  • Experience with scientific web-based platforms and AI tools (e.g., PubMed); retrieve references; summarize and tabulate data.
  • Strong knowledge of Medical Education activities (e.g., CME) and strategy.
  • Proficiency with digital tools (Learning Management Systems (LMS), virtual meeting software, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong knowledge of database creation and management
  • Experience in medical/scientific content development in Diagnostic Contrast Imaging modalities (MRI, CT, ultrasound, nuclear medicine) preferred.
  • Excellent scientific/medical verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Expertise in writing and editing scientific documents to communicate medical/scientific data clearly and effectively to a wide range of audiences.
  • Expertise in scientific publication strategy, planning, and execution
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to successfully interact with internal and external customers including medical education vendors, key opinion leaders, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Demonstrate ability to synthesize materials from various medical and scientific sources
  • Ability to lead projects and work independently
  • Effectively work within cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrate sound judgement
