Security Operations Engineer II
The Security Operations Engineer II is responsible for monitoring, supporting and improving the company's security operations across corporate systems, QA, staging and production environments. This role executes day-to-day security operations while helping mature vulnerability management, IAM practices, incident response and overall security readiness. The position operates as a hands-on engineer who works within defined processes, manages work effectively in Jira and advances the program toward stronger security best practices over time.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor, investigate and respond to security events, alerts and incidents across corporate, QA, staging and production environments
  • Execute vulnerability operations including intake, prioritization, tracking and remediation coordination in an AI-forward environment
  • Support IAM program through access changes, privileged access controls, access reviews and control validation
  • Maintain and improve security runbooks, workflows, documentation and operational procedures
  • Identify operational gaps and recommend practical improvements that strengthen coverage, response and alignment to best practices
  • Partner with IT, Engineering and business teams to address security issues across internal and customer-facing environments
  • Manage work in Jira, including ticket updates, prioritization, workflow discipline and backlog execution
  • Participate in on-call incident response as needed
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in security operations, incident response, vulnerability management or a related security role
  • Experience supporting security monitoring and response across internal systems and cloud or SaaS environments
  • Familiarity with vulnerability management, IAM and core security operations workflows
  • Recent experience with common security tools such as SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanning, email security and cloud security platforms
  • At least one recognized security certification required (Security+, CySA+, SSCP, GSEC, GCIH, CISSP, CISM, etc)
  • SaaS or software company experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Demonstrated ownership, reliability, sound judgment and ability to adapt to new challenges
