What you'll do
The Solution Architect is responsible for designing and implementing technology solutions that align with the business objectives of the organization. Working within the IT Infrastructure & Support team, this role involves evaluating platforms, designing integrations between enterprise systems, and driving automation. The Solutions Architect partners closely with systems administrators, the service desk, application support, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable, well-documented solutions.

- Architect end-to-end solutions for enterprise IT platforms - identity & access management, endpoint management, networking, cloud infrastructure, and collaboration tools.
Develop and implement solution architectures for new and existing projects, ensuring they meet business requirements and are aligned with the overall IT strategy. - Develop and maintain architecture documentation, network diagrams, runbooks, and standards that enable the broader IT team to operate independently.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the technical teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements.
- Ensure that solutions integrate seamlessly with existing systems and infrastructure.
- Create and maintain comprehensive architecture documentation, including design specifications, diagrams, and technical requirements.
- Evaluate new technologies and tools to determine their applicability to the organization's needs and goals.
- Ensure solutions comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role may be based out of the Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC or Remote.
- This role requires 4 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

- Minimum of 12+ years of experience in solution architecture, with a strong foundation in system integration and enterprise application design.
- Proven expertise in architecture frameworks and methodologies (e.g., TOGAF, SAFe, domain-driven design), with the ability to apply them pragmatically in complex environments.
- Deep knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure), including cloud-native design, scalability, security, and cost optimization.
- Strong experience with microservices architecture, APIs, event-driven systems, and modern web services, enabling flexible and resilient solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business strategy into scalable technical solutions, aligning architecture with enterprise goals and roadmaps.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing across business and technical teams without direct authority.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams, driving alignment across product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
- Acts as a technical leader and trusted advisor, providing architectural guidance, mentoring teams, and promoting best practices.
- Experience leading end-to-end solution design, from concept through delivery, ensuring quality, security, and performance standards are met.
- Proven track record of driving innovation and continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to modernize platforms and optimize delivery.
- Strong understanding of governance, standards, and compliance, ensuring solutions align with enterprise architecture principles and guardrails.

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $160,000.00 - $192,500.00
Initial California base salary range = $176,000 - 211,750
