Description:

Lead Deck Ambassadors at British Swim School Hudson Waterfront run efficient customer service and site operations focused on retention of families through engaging relationships to secure further lesson bookings and to attract new customers. Through training, coaching, and supportive feedback, they develop new hires to be the best deck ambassadors they can be and act as role models for the entire deck ambassador staff.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Enthusiastic, assertive personality with strong relationship and customer service skills.
  • Disciplined to follow schedules and enforce safety procedures as well as follow policies, teaching methods, and procedures of British Swim School.
  • Able to communicate effectively with other staff members on deck or in the water.
  • Able to display exemplary Showtime and enthusiasm throughout the entire shift.
  • Good interpersonal and observational skills
  • Good verbal communication and proven leadership skills
  • Comfortable with Jack Rabbit tasks and Fresh Desk Tickets.
  • Take part in regular skill development training (e.g. Customer complaint handling…)

Roles and Responsibilities

? Fulfill the role of a deck ambassador, and additionally mentor incoming deck ambassadors, developing them to be the best deck ambassadors possible.

? Assess trainees’ understanding and progress.

? Provide regular constructive feedback to trainees.

? Lead deck ambassadors are required to participate in on-land and in-office training sessions.

? Reports to and communicates directly with the Area Manager.

? Improve British Swim School’s retention rate and avoid drops.

? Deliver the best customer service possible.

? Manage class schedule, attendance, lesson board, and report attendance.

? Facilitate move-ups correctly with proper take-home materials, celebrate birthdays and milestones appropriately at the pool.

? Attend ongoing training/coaching as requested by the Area Manager.

? Answer all customer questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner and resolve complaints/issues.

? Promote sales for new enrollments, twice-weekly classes, no-drops, and siblings.

? Clear, clean, and organize all appropriate collateral and materials at the end of every shift. Ensure merchandise is properly stocked.

? Assist instructors from the pool deck when they request assistance.

? Report accidents and injuries to the manager as soon as possible.

? Check all water quality, temperature, and chemical levels prior to the first scheduled class of the day and recheck periodically.

? Work a flexible schedule that may include holidays and weekends as required by business needs, trainee needs, and as requested by management.

? Work in an environment where noise levels are usually moderate to high.

? Other responsibilities as assigned by the Area Manager.

Qualifications

? Flexible schedule.

? Successful completion of British Swim School Deck Ambassador training and POS (JackRabbit) training upon hiring.

? High School Diploma or equivalent (Some College preferred)
