Job Summary:

Supervises, organizes and directs the work of Nurses and Nurse Aides in Long-Term Care Facility compliant with Company Policies, State, Federal Laws and Regulations ; must be able to plan, organize, and supervise one or more Nursing Units; must have excellent oral and written communication skills and a sincere desire to work with the elderly; must sustain the cooperation of others; must communicate courteously and respectfully with Employees, Residents and others.

Requirements/Qualifications:

RN License in good standing in State of Mississippi; must possess or obtain TB Certification within first year of accepting position; prefer experience in Long-Term Care Nursing Supervision with comprehensive knowledge of Long-Term Care Nursing principles and practices and their relation to medical practices, skills and application; must pass drug screens and have a satisfactory Criminal History Background Check

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Commitment to providing compassionate care to our elders

• Supervises other Nurses and Nurse Aides to coordinate and ensure quality Resident care

• Makes rounds with Physicians and conducts resident rounds daily

• Records and monitors Residents’ conditions and communicates with Physicians; assists with arranging Residents’ transportation to outside appointments

• Uses Documentation Guidelines to provide charting that is timely, informative, and descriptive of care rendered or action taken

• Participates in Resident Assessment and Care Planning process as needed

• Conducts complete Resident Assessment and Nursing History / Physical for new admits, sent to hospital, transfers, re-admits and discharges that occur

• Monitors and/or initiates IV Therapy and IV medication as ordered

• Conducts QA Assessments as assigned; informs DON of any problems or concerns

• Monitors and evaluates Quality of Care provided by Agency Nurses; ensures compliance with Bedford Policies
