This position is within the Protein Optimization Team of Biotechnology Discovery Research, which is responsible for generating, characterizing, and optimizing biotherapeutics from lead generation to lead optimization and preclinical development.

We are seeking a motivated researchassociate to join our talented multidisciplinary team focused on optimizing protein biotherapeutics. You will be responsible for purifying proteins and antibodies for protein engineering and structure/function analysis. Youl will also be responsible for characterizing biopharmaceutical properties using biochemical, analytical and biophysical techniques towards the identification and mitigation of developability risks. You should possess strong core competency in protein biochemistry, with experience in molecular biology, purification, and protein characterization. Moreover, individuals within the Protein Optimization Team are expected to engage in cross-disciplinary efforts across discovery and development.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of research experience or
  • MS degree in Biochemistry or related field

Additional Skills/Preferences

  • Hands-on experience in cloning, purification, and characterization of proteins.
  • Capability of independently designing experiments, generating data, interpreting results and documenting work.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, self management, task planning and organization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience with AKTA purification systems and analytical HPLC chromatography (SEC, IEX, RP) is a plus
  • Working knowledge of protein-protein interaction binding kinetics
