POSITION SPECIFICS
The Pennsylvania State University seeks an Insurance Program Manager to design and administer the commercial property/casualty insurance and self-insurance programs of the University and Penn State Health. The Insurance Program Manager also assists the Penn State Health and University Risk Managers in risk identification, evaluation, and mitigation efforts.
Primary position duties of the Insurance Program Manager include working with the University's Chief Risk Officer as well as insurance brokers and insurers to identify specific exposures and insurance coverage needs, underwriting requirements, and program design (including utilizing the University's captive insurance company when appropriate). This position also works closely with University leadership to identify risks and potential insurance and non-insurance risk avoidance and transfer solutions. The Insurance Program Manager will present risk management and insurance coverage interpretation and advise leadership as required; lead risk and insurance efforts during potential acquisitions; advocate for favorable insurance requirements in contract reviews; and ensure the insurance program coverages are aligned with contractual requirements.
The successful candidate for this position will serve as a risk management and insurance knowledge expert and must demonstrate knowledge of broad concepts, policies and procedures related to such. They must possess:

Prior commercial insurance or risk management experience is required. Insurance designation(s) such as CPCU, ARM, AU, etc. are preferred.
This position offers a remote work arrangement which may require minimal travel to the Penn State or Penn State Health campuses. Questions related to work arrangements should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.
