Job description

Career Renew is recruiting for one of its clients a Staff Backend Engineer - Crypto - this is a fully remote role for US-based candidates. Salary range: 175-225K plus benefits.

We are building autonomous trading.

Backed by $4.5M in recent funding from Lemniscap and Coinbase Ventures, our vision is bold and concrete: to become the โ€œWaymo of onchain tradingโ€ โ€” fully autonomous trading agents that help users navigate, outperform, and ultimately beat the markets.

We are building the infrastructure and intelligence layer that makes that future possible.

Our co-founders Jason Goldberg, Sarvesh Jain, and Ignas Peciura have been innovating together on Ethereum since 2017 and at the edge of blockchain x AI since 2022. This is an opportunity to join a crack team thatโ€™s aggressively pioneering the future of trading.

What Youโ€™ll Be Building:

  • Real-time, budget-aware mirror trading infrastructure on Hyperliquid and beyond

  • High-throughput wallet and trading systems operating under extreme volatility

  • AI-driven intelligence layers that continuously improve trading outcomes

  • Production systems designed for correctness, resilience, and speed

  • Developer workflows where AI is used aggressively as a force multiplier

This is frontier-level work across perps infrastructure, crypto wallets, trading systems, and applied AI.

What Youโ€™ll Bring (Non-Negotiable):

Seniority & Ownership:

  • Staff-level engineer capable of owning large, business-critical systems

  • Proven ability to lead work end-to-end: problem definition โ†’ architecture โ†’ implementation โ†’ production

  • Comfortable making high-impact technical decisions in ambiguous environments

Crypto-Native Experience (Essential)

  • Hands-on experience with crypto wallets, tokens, and trading systems

  • Deep familiarity with trading APIs, execution flows, and transaction lifecycles

  • Strong intuition for how real crypto markets behave under volatility and scale

Crypto experience is essential.

We can teach product specifics, but you must already be fluent in crypto primitives and trading systems.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong production experience with:

    • TypeScript

    • Node.js

    • Golang

  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, performance, and reliability

  • Experience building high-throughput backend services

  • Actively uses AI as an accelerant in design, development, and iteration (must have)

Operating Excellence

  • Experience running production systems: monitoring, on-call, incident response, root-cause analysis

  • Strong bias toward correctness and safety in financial systems

  • Pragmatic, outcome-oriented approach to shipping

Compensation & Package
  • Equity: initial stock grant of ~1% of the company, currently valued at approximately $230,000

  • Everyone on the Senpi team is eligible for regular salary increases and bonuses based on achieving revenue targets โ€” the entire team is usage + revenue focused

  • Token upside: pro-rata participation in our token launch, planned for 2026

This role is designed to be meaningfully ownership-driven, with real upside tied to company success.
