Job description

We are looking for a Marketing AI Engineer to sit at the intersection of marketing strategy and cutting-edge AI technology. This 4-month contract role is responsible for accelerating adoption of AI within the marketing team by building, managing, and optimizing AI-powered tools and workflows to scale traditional marketing processes. This role will report to the Sr. Director, Marketing Operations.
About You
You are a driven, results-oriented individual who thrives at the intersection of technology and marketing. You have hands-on experience with large language models and AI tooling, and you understand how to translate those capabilities into real business value for a marketing team. You are as comfortable setting strategy as you are getting into the technical details - and you love taking down AI deliverables and enabling others to do their best work with AI on a daily cadence.
What You'll Do (aka Responsibilities)
Backlog Delivery Deliver a steady cadence of milestones from marketing's AI-first backlog, balancing both strategic longer-term projects and tactical short-term priorities.
Role-Based AI Goals Help define and track role-based AI utilization goals across the marketing organization, ensuring measurable progress and accountability.
MCP Connector Development Manage the development and maintenance of MCP connectors across different marketing applications, ensuring reliable integrations and optimized query performance for each connector.
Skills & Governance Set up centralized AI-based "skills" and governance frameworks for marketing AI usage, establishing standards and guardrails for how the team interacts with AI tools and for the Azul as a whole to adhere to marketing standards.
Enablement & Office Hours Lead enablement efforts and host daily office hours to support the marketing team with troubleshooting, onboarding to new tools, and answering questions.
Best Practice Sharing Share best practices across the team on Skills, Prompts, and Agentic workflows, fostering a culture of continuous AI learning and improvement.
Agentic Workflow Design Design, build, and iterate on agentic AI workflows that automate and accelerate marketing processes across all marketing disciplines.
RAG Customization Explore and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) customization where applicable to enhance the relevance and accuracy of AI outputs - nice to have.
What You'll Bring (Education, Skills, Qualifications)
  • Good understanding of marketing principles and familiarity with MarTech tools and ecosystems
  • >

  • Background in computer science or data engineering preferred
  • >

  • Strong hands-on experience with Claude or other large language models (LLMs)

  • >

  • Understanding of marketing automation and integration platforms such as Zapier
