About This RolePATCH is seeking an individual to be responsible for day to day operations of the coordinator and implementation of the statewide CDA Workforce expansion.
What You'll DoThis is a contracted position to run from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027 (with potential for extension).
Must reside in Hawaii
Essential Duties:
- Recruit and work with Juniors/Senior High School students, new ECE practitioners or those ECE practitioners who would like to increase their education.
- Ensure enrollees are in a self-paced training program that at minimum, meets the CDA requirements and to monitor their progress utilizing the current selected vendor.
- Assist enrollees with building the required portfolio, providing them with sample and/or TA support Provides technical assistance to practitioners on how to complete the Registry forms.
- Work with neighborhood schools to collaborate and allow students to conduct their 480 hours or practicum.
- Check in with the schools and monitor students’ progress.
- Meet frequently with students to ensure they are on the path to meetings all components of the CDA. Meetings will be done 1:1, in small groups and/or large groups.
- Provide support for any training module a student may struggle with, portfolio, practicum placement, parent surveys, application process, study/prep for CDA exam and prepare for verification visits.
- Connect candidates to a preschool/infant toddler center/head start that will offer 480 hours of required practicum experience.
Other Duties:
- Assists in program marketing.
- Assists in gathering data for statistical reports and developing materials used to promote and inform about the Childcare Registry.
- Complete monthly PATCH reports
- Complete report for funders
- Performs other duties as necessary.
Working Conditions:
- Remote position, equipment provided. Requires extended periods of sitting.
Work Hours:
- Full Time, Monday - Friday, 7:30 – 4:30 with occasional nights and weekends.
Equipment Use:
- Computer and standard office equipment.

- While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and kneel.
- Must occasionally lift/or move more than 50 pound
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Skills and Knowledge:
- Previous experience interacting in a multi-cultural community.
- Requires knowledge of customer service and oral and written communication skills.
- Requires proficiency in computer & typing skills.
- Knowledge of CDA process
- Knowledge of State’s child care licensing requirements is preferred.
- Knowledge of community child care issues and resources is preferred.
Education/Experience:
- Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- Experience working in the early childhood field is preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of the CDA process
