We have over five decades of excellence, shaping environments that power industry and enrich communities. From modern automotive research facilities to vibrant university campuses, we specialize in several markets and industries including research facilities, commercial, automotive, K-12, higher education, healthcare, religious, and government sectors. DSD blends creative design with technical expertise to deliver sustainable, future-ready spaces. We are looking for a Michigan-Registered Architect to join our collaborative team and help build these impactful projects forward with innovation, integrity, and experience transforming ideas into enduring places.
What You'll Do:
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, design development, and coordination efforts to support strategic and project-level decisions.
  • Manage client relationships, including developing project programming and planning requirements.
  • Present design concepts and schematic designs in collaboration with clients and project teams.
  • Develop project documentation and BIM deliverables to convey design intent and contract scope.
  • Complete design and technical tasks, including site planning, building Code reviews, building sections, elevations, and special details.
  • Lead coordination of AutoCAD or Revit models across departments and multi-discipline teams.
  • Collaborate with consultants and our teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Develop interior design drawings, material selections, and related documentation
  • Review project submittals and support construction-phase activities.
  • Seal documents in your discipline for projects you oversee
Minimum Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited university
  • Michigan Architect Licensure
  • 6+ years of professional experience
  • Experienced in using Revit (including model creation and family content development to company standards)
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam; familiarity with BIM 360 (or equivalent) and point-cloud software such as Autodesk Recap
  • Understand and interpret construction documents, lead field checking activities, and survey existing buildings
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites to observe, investigate, and evaluate conditions
