Job description

Quietflex Manufacturing, a member of Daikin Industries LTD. is seeking a professional, skilled individual Forklft Operator. Quietflex Manufacturing is the leading manufacturer and supplier of flexible ductwork for residential and commercial HVAC systems, as well as fiberglass mats for industrial applications. As a vital component of indoor comfort, Quietflex Manufacturing has a robust line that includes a wide variety of specialized products designed to provide the best solutions to the needs of its many customers.

The Forklift and Reach Truck Operator loads, unloads, transfers and stacks products in the warehouse and trucks while meeting safety, quality, and on-time delivery objectives. This role is also responsible for correctly processing transfers through the warehouse management system and scanners.

Position Responsibilities May Include:

  • Accurately process factory transfers 
  • Control damage and inventory  
  • Safely and efficiently operate forklifts and reach trucks to transfer, load and unload products. 
  • Use the PKMS (warehouse management system) through RF scanning. 
  • Complete LTL and Will Calls 
  • Responsible for accurate and timely completion of paperwork at the end of each shift 
  • Complete daily Pre & Post shift forklift and/or reach truck inspection. Report any problems to the supervisor immediately. 
  • Always demonstrate understanding and commitment to all safety and quality standards. 
  • Attend and participate in daily safety meetings. Follow all safety procedures and policies. 
  • Proper PPE and uniform must always be worn during each shift. 
  • Follow Good Housekeeping - Warehouse upkeep through sweeping and keeping area(s) organized and clean. 
  • Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.

Nature & Scope:

  • Works within well-defined instructions.
  • Uses established procedures and works under supervision to perform assigned tasks. 
  • Work is closely supervised.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Ability to successfully process (ex: Basic Loading and Unloading) factory transfers.  
  • Ability to successfully task outbound FTLs (full truck loads) error and damage free with minimal supervision. 
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift, turret/reach truck and order picker – Must pass in-house forklift and reach truck training. 
  • Ability to use WMS and scanning equipment. 
  • Basic computer skills- MS Office – Outlook and data entry 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to meet deadlines.  
  • Ability to use good judgement and strong work ethics and integrity on the job. 
  • Effective organizational and time management skills with ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to effectively establish positive working relationships with employees & customers. 
  • Ability to understand and follow all Company rules, policies, procedures, and requirements especially for safety, quality, delivery, and productivity/cost. 
  • Ability to apply good judgement, strong work ethics and integrity on the job.

Competency:

Experience:

  • Industrial forklift experience within a large-scale high-volume warehouse/distribution facility  - Preffered
  • WMS (warehouse management systems) experience -preferred 
  • Education/Certification:
  • High School diploma or GED 
  • Forklift and Reach Truck Certifications- provided by in-house training team (40 hrs., forklift and 16 hrs. reach truck) 

People Management: No

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

  • Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • High volume manufacturing environment with forklift traffic.
  • Operating vehicle up to 90%, walking and/or standing up to 20%, stooping or bending, reaching, twisting and turning.
  • Job requires hand eye coordination, handling objects (holding, grasping), repetitive wrist motion (flexion/rotation), and repetitive foot movements (Foot Pedals).
  • May be required to lift, carry, and/or move up to 40 lbs.
