Job description

Quietflex Manufacturing, a member of Daikin Industries LTD. is seeking a professional, skilled Core Operator. Quietflex Manufacturing is the leading manufacturer and supplier of flexible ductwork for residential and commercial HVAC systems, as well as fiberglass mats for industrial applications. As a vital component of indoor comfort, Quietflex Manufacturing has a robust line that includes a wide variety of specialized products designed to provide the best solutions to the needs of its many customers.
Position Responsibilities May Include:
  • Stamp date code on each core.
  • Check the length within the first 10 pieces.
  • Performs pre-shift and hourly checks.
  • Change wire if needed with right size of wire according to company procedure.
  • Tape the end of every core to cover the end of wire.
  • Make and tape tags with accurate number of pieces on each box of cores.
  • Complete the machine and daily production reports accurately.
  • Crush a 25-foot piece of core to approximately 1 foot with both hands.
  • Housekeeping and machine maintenance.
  • Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.

Nature & Scope:
Works within well-defined instructions
Uses established procedures and works under supervision to perform assigned tasks.
Work is closely supervised
Knowledge & Skills:
Must have good basic math skills.
Must have legible handwriting.
Mechanical inclination is preferred.
Able to communicate with supervisor both verbally and written is required.
Ability to stand on his/her feet for a long time.
Achieve 22,500 feet of Core or 900pcs.
Ability to apply good judgement, strong work ethics and integrity on the job.
Competency:
Experience;
  • Prior machine operator experiences preferred

Education/Certification:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred

People Management: No
Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
  • Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Manufacturing environment with forklift traffic.
  • PPE required: Hearing protection, steel toed safety shoes, safety glasses with side shields, and gloves. Job requires standing (up to 90%), walking (up to 10%), stooping or bending, reaching, twisting and turning.
  • Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 40 lbs.
  • Hand Eye Coordination, handling tools and other objects (holding, grasping), repetitive wrist motion (flexion/rotation), and repetitive foot movements (Foot Pedals).
